Friday night was a trip to Lakewood Dixie House in Dallas near White Rock Lake. Before we got married this place was one of our favorites. Laurie loved the broccoli cheese soup. Fried catfish for me. It was a whole piece, with bones, fried extra crisp including the tail. Cornbread was just like Mom's.
Well those day's are GONE. It seems that Dixie House has turned into just "any ole chain" like the rest of em.
Catch-Phrase, "It is what it is". It still had a full crowd but i think there's not much else around there for miles. It brought back a ton of old memories, but i was really disappointed. The only good thing about the meal was the price. $35.00 plus tip. wontbeback.
