  1. I have recently acquired a wood stove in my backyard and I think it would be fun to grill some meat with some wood. However, I know next to nothing about the different types of wood used for cooking. How is pinion wood? What types of meat should be cooked on pinion? http://www.cookingfirewood.com/collections/pinion-wood

  2. mS Ashford, i've never used pinion nor do i know of anyone who cooks with pinion. From what i've read looks like you can but i think it has sort of a christmas type smell. Most bbq cooks in this country use a fruit wood with chicken and or pork, and use hickory, pecan or oak with there beef. Im a Texas boy so i use Post-Oak with my briskets and GA. Peach with my ribs and pork shoulders. It cost plenty to ship GA. peach wood to TX but i promise you it's worth it. Most North Texas bbq cooks use a combination of Hickory-25% and Pecan 75% for almost everything in the smoker. Hope this helps. Anything else i can help you with my email is smokinronniesbbq@yahoo.com don't hesitate to write. no problem
